  Quang Tri has about 28,000 hectares of rice cultivation area, but the area for clean and organic rice production is still too small (only about 200 hectares) and is difficult to replicate. As an enterprise with enough potential to cooperate with people in linking organic rice production and on the basis of policies of central and provincial governments on encouraging investment and development of rice, Sepon Group has researched and built a Preliminary project on the development of VietGAP rice, Quang Tri organic rice.

   The objective of the project is to form rice production areas that meet organic and VietGAP standards through cooperation with cooperatives; building and shaping the link model between 5 houses; building brands of clean rice products, Quang Tri organic rice for export; applying agricultural services to production to reduce costs; thereby helping rice farmers in the province to increase their income; building and replicating the model of "eco-village" in association with building a model new rural area; bringing economic efficiency to businesses through the sale of organic rice and rice products and products after rice.

 Total investment is expected to be about 600 billion VND. The implementation progress of the project includes 3 phases (2021-2022, 2023-2025, and 2026-2030). In which, in the period of 2021-2022, completing application procedures, trial production of compost, signing contracts with a number of cooperatives for rice production, 200 hectares of organic rice production. , 300 ha of VietGAP rice production. Putting a rice drying plant with a capacity of 200 tons/day and a rice storage warehouse with a capacity of 2,000 tons into operation.

  Sepon Group proposed to the Provincial People's Committee interested in building a collective brand "Quang Tri Organic Rice" with criteria and standards for organizations and individuals to achieve will be allowed to use this mark. Support Trieu Phong Natural Farming Clean Agricultural Cooperative with funding to maintain organic rice certification; expenses for testing soil samples, water samples, seeds, fertilizers, and yield compensation in the first 2 years; costs of training, awareness-raising, production guidance, monitoring of the implementation process, certification of organic standards, VietGAP; expenses for planning organic rice production areas, VietGAP (according to Resolution 02/2018/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council) for the People's Committees of Vinh Linh, Trieu Phong, Hai Lang, Cam Lo and Gio Linh districts ( or business). The signing of contracts between enterprises and cooperatives, localities, farmers, and related units for cooperation in rice production must be specific and linked with each other. The recommendations and proposals of Sepon Group to develop the project are very relevant and appropriate, so the relevant departments and agencies, according to their functions and tasks, research and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and decide. . In the immediate future, on the policy of allowing Sepon Group to choose the expected location for the construction of the rice drying plant; coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to develop specific planning of organic rice material areas, VietGAP.
